National wrestling champs open in Hà Nội

HÀ NỘI — The National Wrestling Championships opened in Quốc Oai District in Hà Nội on Thursday.

The event has attracted  一00 wrestlers from nine teams across the country including Bắc Giang, Thái Nguyên, Tuyên Quang, Vĩnh Phúc and Thừa Thiên-Huế.

Participants are competing in  一 二 women’s and men’s categories from under  四 八kg to over  八 五kg.

The top wrestlers will be selected for the national teams to compete at upcoming international tournaments.

It is being organised by the National Sports Administration and Hà Nội’s Department of Culture and Sports .

Quốc Oai is home to some of the leading wrestlers in the country such as SEA Games gold medallist Nguyễn Thị Lụa and legends Nguyễn Đình Khinh and Phí Hữu Tình. — VNS
