Wellington – Hotels, Motels, Hostels

For a Week or Weekend – Wellington has the Hotel for you!

Wellington Accommodation

If you are visiting Wellington City for a well earned weekend away, or family holiday… You will find quality accommodation easy to secure. Many hotels are popular chain hotels that  regularly run last-minute or weekend specials.

Wellington also offers an excellent selection of Five Star  Hotels – one of the best and most popular is the Bolton Hotel – with over 1200 positive reviews from previous guests.

If you require Luxurious plus unique take a look at the Wharekauhau Country Estate it’s a short drive from Wellington in a beautiful location, you will find it offers premium facilities.

The range of accommodation in Wellington is both diverse in its price range and of a high standard, as you would expect from New Zealand’s capital city.

There is also a good possibility of  Last Minute Hotels at very good rates

From 5 star luxury through to backpackers, motels or camping grounds, whatever your budget, Wellington has it all…

When traveling New Zealand, I would recommend you allow 2 -3 days in Wellington,  it is an interesting vibrant City,  compact enough to walk to most attractions and restaurants, though big and bold enough to interesting.

During the day you could visit the Te Papa Museum or ride the Historic Cable Car to the Botanic Gardens…

Visit the Karori Bird Sanctuary.

Visit the Weta Cave with its museum and film screening all of which is absolutely free – co-founded by Peter Jackson.

At night you have the choice of culture or eating out in fine restaurants or combine the two…

You could try the St James Theater,  for culture,  built-in 1912, this grand old theater still hosts cutting-edge drama.

For food you could try The White House232 Oriental Parade – consistently ranked amongst the capital’s finest restaurants, or  Logan Brown Restaurant – 192 Cuba St, corner of Cuba & Vivian Streets – the Supreme Winner of the Restaurant of the Year Awards 2009.

Wellington has a lot to offer, it should be recognized as more than just a convenient accommodation stop before catching the Ferry to the South Island… so allow some time in your holiday itinerary and book a nice hotel… stay a few nights – enjoy the local attractions during the day and restaurants or varied nightlife once the sunsets.
