Amongst Rotorua’s many hotels and motels, the Millennium Hotel one of the few Hotels conveniently located a short distance from Polynesian Spa, Rotorua Museum and Govt Gardens.

An added plus is the short easy walk to “Eat Street” Rotorua’s Go To Spot for Resturants, Bars and Cafe’s.

The Millennium Hotel is idealy positioned for a gentle stroll through Government Gardens then along the Rotorua Lake Front to your chosen Resturant or Bar in Eat Street.

For the more energetic among you, Redwood Grove walking tracks and mountain bike tracks are just a short distance away – you can ride or walk there without crossing the main road!

The Hotel has a total of  227  rooms it is rated as a  4-star hotel with 3 room grades, some rooms have stunning views of Lake Rotorua.

Superior Room: with the standard features you would expect from a 4 star chain hotel, all the rooms in Millennium Rotorua are on the small side if you are traveling as a couple it should be fine, but if with kids or extended family it would become an issue with very little personal space, the decor is pleasant with muted pastels colours, a little dated but the rooms are comfortable…

Superior Plus Room: The sole difference between Superior Rooms and Superior Plus Rooms in Millennium Hotel Rotorua seem to be the balcony with views overlooking Lake Rotorua, a small advantage, but still nice I guess? The facilities and decor inside the rooms are the same.

Club Rooms: complimentary use of The Club Lounge and business facilities – ideal for the business or corporate traveler, continental breakfast in the morning and bar service in the evenings.

Millennium Club Rooms are situated on the fifth floor they are slightly larger than standard rooms but the fittings and decor show no real improvement over the standard rooms.

Many of the Club Rooms have a balcony with lake views, the  entire Club Floor is a smoke-free and child free area – something to be aware of if travelling with your kids.

One area that the Millennium Rotorua really shines is it’s Spa Facilities and  Geothermally Heated Pools – the covered all weather pool is great for relaxing after a hard day mountain biking or trekking around tourist attractions, as well the children and toddler pools are perfect for entertaining your kids when you run out idea’s or the weather turns bad,

Note: It appears the main pool, on occasion, has restricted use – you often can’t use the pool in the evening or mornings due to the Maori Cultural Show or when large groups are using the restaurant.

“There’s a beautiful pool in the hotel but from 6 pm it was reserved for group dinner. It was also reserved  for group breakfast from early morning. We didn’t have a chance to use it.”

A  4-star hotel in a great location situated in the heart of Rotorua, which gives you access to all that this city has to offer.

The Business Center offers full secretarial services with professional executive support as well as conference facilities for up to 400 delegates or seven meeting rooms of various sizes.

Non-smoking and rooms for guests with disabilities are available as is 24 hour room service. The Millennium has two restaurants and a bar, there is 100 free off street parking spots available which is great compared to most hotels, but parking can still be difficult to find if the hotel is full.

The Millennium Rotorua Hotel has comfortable rooms,  they are decorated in muted warm tones with a homely feel. If you are wanting true luxury in Rotorua you will need to look at Luxury Lodges or Luxury Spa’s – be prepared to pay a lot more for your room.

When traveling with children it is sometimes difficult to find a hotel suitable for the whole family Rotorua Millennium is for the most part “Child Friendly” they have babysitters, heated pools for all ages as well as children’s menus in the restaurant.
