Travel Visa’s

If you wish to travel to  New Zealand and you are not an Australian, you will need to go about applying for an entry  visa. If you are planning on staying for up to 3 to 6 months, you will need a visitors visa.

If you are visiting New Zealand from America or any major European or Asian country, you will be given a visitors visa on arrival.

Tourists arriving from the UK will be given an automatic six-month visa but travellers from outside the listed areas will need to apply in advance.

Work Visa’s

If you are hoping to stay longer and work in this time, a workers visa needs to be applied for. This has to be applied for in advance and is only available to travellers from certain countries,  New Zealand Travel or Work Visa’s

Getting Around

When travelling  New Zealand, there are a number of options for cheap transport, travelling by coach is one. If you are staying in the country for a while, it is possible to buy a backpackers ticket, which allows you to hop on and hop off buses for a set period of time.

There are coach tours provided by companies which usually involve some form of a package featuring trips or excursions and there are standard public buses where you travel between two points for a set fair.

Coach travel is a common way of  Travelling around New Zealand and is suitable for those on a budget or who know where they want to go.

The train options in New Zealand are limited but they do offer a great way of getting around between Auckland, Christchurch and Greymouth. This mode of transport is not suitable for many people travelling in New Zealand but it is a quick and affordable method of transport in these areas.
